Job Title: Instructional Coach
Position Overview:
The Instructional Coach plays a critical role in supporting the professional growth and
development of teachers to improve student achievement. This position requires a deepunderstanding of both reading and math standards and instructional shifts, as well as the ability to hold staff accountable for maintaining high expectations for all students. The Instructional Coach collaborates with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to implement research-based practices and innovative strategies that enhance teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Instructional Support:
● Provide targeted support to teachers in the implementation of reading and math
standards and instructional shifts.
● Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and identify instructional needs
and strategies for differentiation.
● Model effective instructional strategies and co-teach lessons to support teacher
development.
Professional Learning Communities(PLCs):
● Co-facilitate PLC meetings focused on analyzing student data, sharing best
practices, and collaborating on instructional planning.
● Support PLCs in setting goals, monitoring progress, and implementing action plans
to improve student outcomes.
Coaching and Feedback:
● Conduct non-evaluative classroom observations and provide constructive
feedback to teachers on instructional practices.
● Support teachers with real-time coaching and feedback
● Support teachers in setting goals and developing action plans for professional
growth.
● Provide ongoing coaching and support to help teachers implement new strategies
and improve their instructional practice.
Data Analysis and Assessment:
● Collaborate with teachers to analyze student assessment data and identify areas
for instructional intervention and support.
● Assist teachers in designing and implementing formative and summative
assessments to measure student progress and inform instruction.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
● Work collaboratively with administrators, instructional leaders, and other
stakeholders to align coaching efforts with school goals and priorities.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best
practices in education and instructional coaching.
● Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and strategies for improving
teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field.
● Valid PA teaching certification.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience.
● Demonstrated knowledge of reading and math standards and instructional shifts.
● Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and
support.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive
relationships with teachers and other stakeholders.
● Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute new ideas and
perspectives.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $73,000
