Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)


Position Overview:


Russell Byers Charter School is seeking an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst(BCBA)
for a full-time, school-based position. As a BCBA in this newly created role, you will provideessential behavioral support and interventions for special education students in a Kindergartenthrough 8th Grade setting. This dynamic position also offers the opportunity to develop andimplement policies, procedures, and protocols that align with the school’s mission to empowerstudents to be compassionate, engaged citizens prepared for lifelong success.

Key Responsibilities:

Behavioral Assessment and Planning:

  • Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the
    underlying causes of behaviors.
  •  Develop and implement individualized Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
    and Safety/Crisis Plans as needed.
  •  Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to ensure effectiveness and
    alignment with student goals.

Intervention and Support:

  • Deliver targeted, in-classroom support for students to promote positive behaviors
    and reduce disruptions.
  •  Respond to crisis situations promptly, guiding staff in their roles and ensuring the
    safety of all involved.
  •  Provide direct support to students and staff to address immediate behavioral concerns.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Train school staff on behavior management strategies, ABA principles, and crisis
    intervention techniques.
  •  Collaborate closely with families to ensure consistency of behavioral interventions
    at school and home.
  •  Engage in IEP meetings to share insights and progress on behavioral goals,
    contributing to well-rounded support plans.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collect and analyze data on behavioral interventions to evaluate their
    effectiveness and guide adjustments.
  •  Maintain detailed documentation to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania state
    requirements and school policies.

Program Development:

  • Establish and refine policies, procedures, and protocols for behavior intervention
    services within the school.
  •  Stay updated on Pennsylvania state requirements and best practices for
    school-based BCBAs.

Qualifications:

  • Active BCBA certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
    (BACB).
  •  Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Behavior Specialist, preferably in a school or
    educational setting.
  •  Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania state requirements for school-based BCBAs.
  •  Proven experience working with special education students and their families.
  •  Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with IEP development and processes, as well as crisis intervention protocols.
