6th Grade Expedition

The sixth grade expedition this was "To Clone or Not to Clone." Throughout the expedition, students studied cell reproduction and DNA replication, heredity, and the controversial, ethical debate of cloning. For the final expedition product, students were divided into four teams. Two teams debated human reproductive cloning, and two teams debated the safety of cloned meat being sold to the public. All the students researched their debate positions, chose four main arguments for the debate, wrote two constructive speeches, and prepared rebuttals. Both debates took place at the Celebration of Learning. A three-judge panel evaluated the debate and chose debate team winners. The students were proud of their accomplishments and learned a tremendous amount about a current issue that will more than likely affect their lives in the future.
