A C A D E M I C S : 3rd Grade Expedition
Where Have All the Spots Gone?
The third grade expedition focused on the northern leopard frog (NLF). Students dove into three investigations. The first investigation covered the life cycle of a frog, the anatomy, and the habitat and needs of the NLF. The second investigation taught students about the 6 classes of animals; amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds, fish, and insects. Then they compared the NLF to representative animals of another class. The final investigation focused on the decline of the NLF and how it serves as an indicator of environmental health.
