Third grade students learned about the EL Design Principle, "Success and Failure". They participated in a regular routine of physical exercises such as stretches, jumping jacks and push-ups. Students learned that they sometimes will fail at a task, but with a little extra practice and some encouragement from their peers, they can succeed.

Fourth grade students learned about "Collaboration and Competition". Small groups of students were challenged to stand on the same wooden planks and use the connecting ropes to move as a group from one place to another. They learned that they sometimes need to work together as a whole and not as separate entities in order to complete a task or activity.
